The Project HOME Summer Program was open to rising 10th-12th grade Maguire Scholars who are interested in the issues of poverty and homelessness and doing service. During the camp, the students did a cleanup for St. Elizabeth’s Community Center; visited Eastern State Penitentiary , where the staff gave them a tour and a lecture on mass incarceration; organized recreational activities, including bingo, for Project HOME residents; spent time at Philabundance, where they packaged food for distribution to folks who needed it; and visited the Project HOME store and met with a resident who runs the store.
