Early Learners

In partnership with the Children’s Scholarship Fund and the Independence Mission Schools, Maguire Foundation is investing $500,000 in scholarship dollars per year through The Children’s Scholarship Fund Philadelphia (CSFP).

Maguire Foundation invested $100,000 in seed capital plus $1,000,000 in operating costs for the Independence Mission Schools (IMS).

IMS is the umbrella organization of 15 parish elementary schools that forms a network of independent private Catholic schools.  The Maguire Foundation now serves more than 500 students in grades K-5 in the IMS.

This network encompasses close to 5000 grade school children from low income, underserved neighborhoods in Philadelphia.

CSFP will identify students from low-income families in Philadelphia, entering one of the IMS schools. These scholarship funds will serve to incentivize academic high achievers.

Maguire Foundation invests $1000 per student, and leverages $721 in additional support from CSFP, for each year of scholarship support.
